Minutes of the meeting of the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors

Wednesday, April 28, 2004, 9:00 a.m., Large Courtroom, Sawyer County Courthouse

 

The April 28, 2004 meeting of the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors was called to order by Chairman Hal Helwig.  Roll call was as follows:

The agenda for the meeting was presented as follows:

  1. County Board committee and representative appointments
  2. County Board supervisor information and orientation session
    • Introduction of program and department heads (County Board Chairman Hal Helwig)
    • County Board supervisors’ roles and responsibilities (UW-Extension Agent Dave Berard)
    • County governance structure – committees, departments, administrative coordinator, and other elected, constitutional officials (County Clerk Kris Mayberry)
    • Per diems, travel reimbursement, schedule of meetings, who’s who, getting items on agendas (Mayberry)
    • Open meeting and open records laws (Mayberry)
    • Ethics and conflict of interest (Berard)
    • Resources for effective meetings, parliamentary procedure (Human Resource Manager Carol Larson)
    • Personnel matters, information and protocols (Larson)
    • County budget and fiscal management (Mayberry)
    • Governance vs. management (Berard)

 

Chairman Helwig presented the following recommendations for County Board committee and representative appointments:

Motion by Bassett, 2nd by Vitcenda, to approve the recommendations.  Motion carried.

 

The Board completed the information and orientation session as outlined above.

 

The meeting was adjourned.
