Chairperson Bassett called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
Moved by Bassett, seconded by Gunderson to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Bassett, seconded by Gunderson to approve minutes from the March 8, 2011 meeting. Motion carried.
Linda Zillmer inquireds if there has been any discussion from this committee regarding the impact of the rezones on Ag parcels. The committee suggested this was a topic for the zoning committee, not Ag and Extension.
Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Brief update was given by Chuck Aubart. Christian Motorcycle group coming in next month, Dairy Breakfast in June.
Agent Report – Trinke McNurlin, Family Living Agent
McNurlin distributed report (on file). McNurlin highlighted her three top issues she would address if “Queen for a day”. 1) Create a central point of intake for services within the Sawyer County. Discussion. 2) Create a sustainable co-op of mixed housing. 3) Propose more opportunities early and be more pro-active with young adults age 18-24 in teaching financial self-sufficiency. Further discussion.
Summer Horticulture Position
Moved by Thompson to approve the $500 budgeted funding for a summer horticulture position, seconded by Bassett. Motion carried.
Request to Use UW-Extension Program Line Item
Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Thompson to approve the request to use the UW-Extension Program Revenue and Expense line items for the Silent Sports Impact Study and forward request to Finance. Motion carried.
Approval of Vouchers
Moved by Thompson, seconded by Gunderson to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Approval of Out-of-County Travel
Moved by Bassett, seconded by Pearson to approve out-of-county travel. Motion carried.
Any Other Business
Discussion of budget changes and how they may or may not exist.
Closed Session, Pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(c), for the Purpose of Conducting Performance Evaluation
Motion by Thompson, 2nd by Gunderson, to go into Closed Session as authorized by Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(c) and as noticed on the agenda for the purpose of conducting a performance evaluation. Motion carried unanimously.
(Closed Session minutes are kept in a confidential file in the County Clerk’s office)
Motion by Thompson, 2nd by Gunderson, to return to Open Session. Motion carried. Motion by Gunderson, 2nd by Thompson, to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 a.m.
