Chairperson Bassett called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
Moved by Thompson, seconded by Gunderson to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Motion by Bassett, seconded by Gunderson to approve minutes from the May 10, 2011 meeting. Motion carried.
Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Laberee reported on behalf of the Fair Board that a Chief’s meeting will be held this week to organize fair volunteers, a trifold is being printed and distributed throughout the county to advertise schedule of events. Delays occurred in printing of the handbook due to changes of ownership at the Sawyer County Gazette.
Agent Reports – Otto Wiegand, Ag Agent
Otto Wiegand distributed and reviewed his report on all activity since his last visit (report on file). Highlighting that the RC and D funding has been discontinued as of next year due to Federal Budget cuts. Wiegand reported that he is only representative from the north who serves on a state team regarding wolf population; approximately $200,000 was paid out last year state wide for wolf damage, mostly in Douglas County.
Approval of Vouchers
Moved by Bassett, seconded by Thompson to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Moved to approve out of county travel by Thompson, seconded by Gunderson. Motion carried.
Any Other Business
Berard states that Hazardous Waste funding should remain in the state budget.
Moved to adjourn by Bassett, seconded by Thompson. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:02 a.m.
