County Board Chair Hal Helwig called the meeting of the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors to order.  Roll call was as follows (x indicates present):

The agenda for the meeting was presented as follows:  County Board and department head training and other matters for discussion only.

 

Attorney Andrew T. Phillips, of the Phillips Borowski law firm, and Wisconsin Counties Association Director of Programs and Services Michael J. Blaska presented a training session for members of the Sawyer County Board of Supervisors and the department heads of Sawyer County.  The training included a PowerPoint presentation entitled “What Does it Mean to be a Member of the County Board” and addressed issues including opportunities for county government presented by the State of Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill, the roles and responsibilities of county board members and county personnel, open and fair process, and policy governance.
