Committee members present: Tom Duffy (Chair), Bill Voight, Dean Pearson, Warren Johnson.

Motion by Pearson, 2nd by Voight, to approve the meeting agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Pearson, 2nd by Voight, to approve the October 9, 2012 meeting minutes. Motion carried
audience recognition – Linda Zilmer spoke in support of a room tax and other sources of revenue for promoting the County.
Winter Chamber of Commerce representatives Robert Schuck, Geary Searfoss, and Jackie Petit presented the Chamber’s request for a contribution of $5,000 from the Sawyer County Resource Development Fund (environmental impact fund portion) towards the expenses of upgrading the Winter Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Guide publication. Motion by Voight, 2nd by Johnson, to recommend County Board approval for a contribution of $2,000. The motion failed with Voight and Johnson voting yes and Duffy and Pearson voting no.
The Committee determined that no additional applications for contributions for projects from the Sawyer County Resource Development Fund (environmental impact fund portion) shall be issued until the Committee reviews the application process and funding for future contributions is determined.
Northwest Regional Planning Commission Deputy Director Sheldon Johnson presented a report including that the all-hazards mitigation plan development is moving along; that a grant for $63,500 was received from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation by Visions Northwest; that the regional economic development fund has a balance of approximately $1,400,000; that Jeff Dietrich was hired by NWRPC to replace the retiring John Stroschine as the NWRPC Program Manager; and that NWRPC submitted a regional application for a Community Development Block Grant for housing rehabilitation requesting $1,700,000.
County Clerk Kris Mayberry reported progress in negotiations for the acquisition of portions of the abandoned railroad right-of-ways for the preservation and development of recreational trails in the County.
The Committee discussed that Sawyer County did not provide funds for the requested $1,000 contribution to the Superior Days event in 2013.
Motion by Johnson, second by Pearson, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
