Chairperson Pearson called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Bassett to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Voight, seconded by Bassett to approve minutes from the September 11, 2012 meeting. Motion carried.
Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Ron Kubarek reported. First auction fundraiser was held last week. It is undecided if the event will be repeated and will be discussed at the next Fair Board meeting. Sawyer County is hosting the District Fair meeting at Lumberjack Steakhouse tomorrow. This is a brainstorming and networking event. Annual meeting is next month. The committee congratulates and applauds the Fair Board for a job well done over the last few years.
Agent Report – Kevin Schoessow, Ag Agent
Kevin Schoessow, Ag Agent, presented this month. Schoessow reviewed and highlighted the report that was distributed to the committee and held an open discussion reviewing who he is and what he does. Schoessow highlighted the 14 session class coming up at LCO, which is a live distance education from UW-Madison focusing on beginner grass based dairy and livestock farmers, business planning and grass management, etc. 11am - 1 pm on Tuesdays. Lunchtime may encourage more participation. Master Gardener program is also moving in that direction as well. Slide presentation of recent programming.
Approval of Vouchers
Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Shuman to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Approval of Out-of-County Travel
Moved by Bassett, seconded by Shuman to approve out of county travel. Motion carried. Discussion regarding continuation of this item on the agenda. It will remain.
Any Other Business
Moved by Shuman, seconded by Bassett to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
