Chairperson Pearson called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Shuman to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Voight, seconded by Kinsley to approve minutes from the November 6, 2012 meeting. Motion carried.
Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Chuck Aubart reported. The Fair Board’s Annual meeting was held last month; Dawn Stone is new member on Fair Board to complete Secretary Patsy Aubart’s term. Ken Schmock, Fair Board member, has taken the lead on the idea to use the Fairgrounds as winter playground with activities of sliding, skating, etc. The first event is on 23rd of December. Another one on Christmas break, one in January and February. A slight fee will be charged; insurance has been obtained.
Still need to do fundraising for raising the roof on the hog barn.
Agent Report – Otto Wiegand, Ag Agent
Otto Wiegand, Ag Agent, distributed and reviewed report (report on file) as well as presented a slide show of educational events in the last six months.
Community Natural Resource Economic Development Agent Update
Discussion of replacing the CNRED position in Sawyer County. Laberee will be attending the Personnel meeting on December 18th to encourage the county to replace the position at 100%. Kris Mayberry spoke that he wants to be sure the county doesn’t miss an opportunity to assist the county in economic growth. This position can and has played a key role in economic development. Mayberry will also bring his support to the Economic Development Committee.
Family Living Educator Update
Applicants were screened on Friday. 3 preliminary interviews next Wednesday. Interviews set for Friday, January 4, 2013. Laberee asks for committee members to attend; she will be in touch with everyone by the end of the week with details.
Approval of Vouchers
Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Shuman to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Approval of Out-of-County Travel
Moved by Basset, seconded by Shuman to approve out of county travel. Motion carried.
Any Other Business
Michael Braatz, 4-H member and Junior at Hayward High School has been chosen to represent Wisconsin. 4-H Foundation pays for him to participate.
Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Bassett to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
