Chairperson Pearson called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
Moved by Bassett, seconded by Kinsley to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Moved by Voight, seconded by Kinsley to approve minutes from the March 12, 2012 meeting. Motion carried.
Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association
Ron Kubarek reported. Kubarek thanks committee for recommendation to the County Board for the donation to the Sawyer County Fair. A 0% loan was granted for the remainder of funds needed for the Swine building at the Fairgrounds.
The Dairy breakfast is in June. The Fair Board is going to set up flea market during the breakfast.
The Fair Board is creating an emergency plan during Fair time.
The Fair Board is pursuing the idea of having a Sawyer County Fairest of the Fair contest.
Another idea is to have community education classes at fairgrounds such as canning, etc. It will promote use of the fairgrounds and hopefully participation in fair.
During the Fair, the Dweebs will be opening Thursday night, and there will be no motor event during livestock auction.
Lions club wants to donate $5000 for fairground use.
Eileen Simak was invited in for presentation. Community Data in a Day was done in Sawyer County and Simak reviewed the results on Sawyer County’s needs. The full report is available on the county website under Community Health Assessment.
Community Natural Resource Economic Development Agent Update
Preliminary Interviews for the CNRED position are in one week. Final interviews set for May 3. Lori will confirm details with committee as the time draws near.
Approval of Vouchers
Moved by Voight, seconded by Kinsley to approve vouchers. Motion carried.
Approval of Out-of-County Travel
Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Shuman to approve out of county travel. Motion carried.
Any Other Business
Moved by Shuman, seconded by Kinsley to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
