Chairperson Pearson called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

Approval of Agenda

Moved by Voight, seconded by Kinsley to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes

Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Pearson to approve minutes from the May 7, 2012 meeting.  Motion carried.

Audience Recognition


Sawyer County Ag. Fair Association

Chuck Aubart reported.  Distributed handbooks and reviewed condition of fairgrounds.  Swine building plans are in Madison for approval. The builder believes he will be able to start around June 15th. 

Agent Report

Lori Laberee, Sawyer County 4-H Youth Agent reported and reviewed upcoming 4-H programming such as starting 4-H in LCO Schools this fall;  hiring a summer intern as well as bringing an AmeriCorps worker on board as a result of funding provided by the Sawyer County 4-H Clubs, Inc. providing $6000 for program outreach.  The summer intern and Tribal AmeriCorps member will focus their efforts on summer programs such as summer school, summer youth library programs, 4-H day camps, youth leadership, community gardens, etc.  As a result of a grant opportunity with LCO T.R.A.I.L.S. and Sawyer County 4-H Youth Development, a Youth Learning Event with national presenters will be held on June 17th at LCO College.  The target is to reach 75 to 100 youth for the event.  4-H Youth Michael Braatz reported on his trip to Washington D.C. in April to represent WI 4-H at the National (PILD) Public Issues Leadership Development conference.  Past county board supervisor Shirley Riedmann, was previously a WI county board delegate several years ago. Approval of Vouchers

Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Voight to approve vouchers.  Motion carried. 

Approval of Out-of-County Travel

Moved by Kinsley, seconded by Pearson to approve out of county travel.  Motion carried. 

Any Other Business

Laberee will be working on preliminary budget presentation for next month.  Grigoryan reviewed her programming efforts to date.  She has connected with David Flemming out at LCO and been meeting people in the community building relationships.  Has made visits all around Winter, Stone Lake, Hayward and LCO. On July 27th there will be a Hazardous Waste collection in Hayward.  Gary Searfoss, an accountant in Winter area informed Grigoryan of the Depot project and of the Winter Chamber Economic Development meetings.  Baltrusis reviewed her programming efforts to date.  Baltrusis has completed Parenting Education training as well as Food Preservation training and is working on setting up education in Sawyer County.  She is collaborating with LCO to present the summer lunch and learn series “Summertime is Food Preservation Time”.
