The meeting was called to order at 8:32 a.m.  Motion by Romnes, second by Voight, to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Voight, second by Hirschfeld, to approve the minutes of the December 4, 2003 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

Billyboy Dam Easements

Olson reported that negotiations continue with both parties.

 

Land Sale Concerns

Application to purchase parcel 14, 2003 Land Sale List, from Winter Co-op.  Motion by Voight, second by DeLong, to approve the sale.  Motion carried.

 

NRCS Business

Koehler presented work report (copy on file).  Motion by Voight, second by Romnes to approve the work report.  Motion carried.

 

LCO Business

Tyrolt presented Ashegon Lake Water Quality Study.  Discussion regarding the water quality.

 

County Work Report

Work reports distributed (copies on file).  Motion by Romnes, second by Hirschfeld, to approve the work reports.  Motion carried.

 

2003 Wildlife Damage Crop Reimbursement Rates

Discussion regarding crop prices and wildlife damage amounts.  Motion by DeLong, second by Hirschfeld, to approve the following crop reimbursement rates for 2003 damage:  Corn-$2.37 per bushel; Oats-$1.49 per bushel; Soybeans-$7.53 per bushel; Alfalfa-$120.00 per ton; Cranberries-$30.00 per ton.  Motion carried.

 

2003 Wildlife Damage Claims

Distributed list of  wildlife damage claimants with yield loss (copy on file).  Discussion and review of DNR mandatory shooting permit report and recommendation to deny claim for Dale Beissel.  Mr. Beissel addressed the committee.  Tim Seidl, County Conservation Technician, present for discussion.  Motion by Hirschfeld, second by Romnes, to approve the claims as presented with no eligible claim for Mr. Beissel.  Motion carried.

 

Expenditures

Vouchers distributed and reviewed.  Motion by DeLong, second by Hirschfeld, to approve the vouchers.  Motion carried.  Motion by Hirschfeld, second by Romnes, to approve payment for Dale Olson’s cell phone charges for closed session conference call.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by DeLong, second by Hirschfeld, to adjourn.  Motion carried.
